Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about credits and pricing
Credits represent units of AI processing power included with your plan. They are used for operations like creating story illustrations, generating story covers, and generating character appearances. The cost of each operation is always shown before you confirm. Other operations — like writing story text, editing, and managing your universes and characters — are included for free and don't use any credits.
A story costs credits for each illustrated page — typically between 5 and 20 credits total. A short bedtime story with 6–8 pages uses around 6–8 credits, while a longer adventure with 15–20 pages uses around 15–20 credits. You choose the number of pages when creating a story and always see the total cost before generation starts.
One-time credits never expire — they stay in your account until you use them, regardless of whether you have an active subscription. Subscription credits roll over to the next month if unused, up to twice your monthly allowance (e.g., Fablele Plus allows up to 112 accumulated credits). After cancelling a subscription, your remaining subscription credits are available for 30 more days.
Yes! Credits from one-time packages and subscriptions go into the same pool and can be used together. This is useful if you occasionally need more credits than your subscription provides — for example, before a holiday when you want to create extra stories as gifts.
Subscription credits are always used first, starting with the oldest ones (rolled over from previous months), then the current month's credits. One-time credits are used last. This ensures your subscription credits — which have accumulation limits — are consumed while they're fresh, while your one-time credits — which never expire — are preserved for as long as possible.
Yes — you can change your subscription plan at any time. When you upgrade, you immediately receive the difference in credits between the new and old plan for the current month. When you downgrade, if you have more accumulated credits than the new plan's limit allows, the excess credits get a 30-day grace period to use before they expire. Your one-time purchased credits are never affected by plan changes.
